Tertiary SmartRider Concession

Full-time, classroom-based students are entitled to concessions on Transperth services.
You can update your existing SmartRider to a Tertiary SmartRider through the Student Portal.
If you do not have a SmartRider, you can purchase one from a Transperth Info Centre or retail outlet.

How to Register Your SmartRider

1, Go to the North Metropolitan TAFE website and scroll down to the bottom of the page, then click the Student Portal link.
2, Click Log on using office 365.
3, Select Mydetails from the menu. Scroll down until you see the Alternate ID section.
4, Click Add on the right-hand side. A pop up box will appear.
5, Set Alternate ID Type to Transperth SmartRider.
6, Enter your 9-digit SmartRider number in the Alternate ID field. (Example: SR123456789)
7, Type the current year in the Year field.
8, Click Save on the right-hand side. Your SmartRider will now be linked to your student account.

* If you experience any issues, contact the Student Services team for assistance.

Important

The Public Transport Authority (PTA) will be notified of your enrolment status overnight and apply the tertiary concession rate to your card.
To avoid unnecessary fines, make sure you carry both your student SmartRider and your Student Card while using a student concession on public transport. Even if you buy a cash ticket.
